Ahoj (Hello)! My name is Niecea Freeman. I'm 25 years old and a recent graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor's degree in education. I'm originally from a small town called Loyalton, a city nestled away in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Loyalton's population is just above 800, with more cows than people, giving us the title of "Loneliest Town in America." However, despite coming from a rural community with limited resources and opportunities, I've made it my life's mission to travel and see the world.
In my senior year of college, I studied in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I worked with students from all over Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. I was so inspired by the diversity of culture and backgrounds in my classroom that I decided to apply for (and received!) a Fulbright grant to teach English in the Czech Republic. I am currently a teacher at an agriculture and veterinary secondary school in the Pardubice region of Czechia (the country's official nickname). You can still find me living in a small town like Loyalton, surrounded by pastures and cattle, but this time in Europe, an ocean and 5,700 miles away from home!
I am so thrilled to be a part of your classroom and I look forward to getting to know you while I share my experiences from my journey in Czechia. Na Shledanou (Goodbye for now)!
