Welcome, Travelers! Namaste (hello)!
My name is Nina and I want to welcome you to India! I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Now I live in Boston, Massachusetts where I am in medical school to learn how to be a doctor. Once I finish medical school, I want to take care of kids like you!
Right now, I am taking a break from medical school to spend nine months in India. Do you know where India is? India is a country in South Asia. It has the second biggest population in the world. That means that out of all the countries in the entire world, India has the second most number of people living there. In case you're curious, China has the most number of people living there and the United States is number three (although our population is much smaller). Because India is also a smaller country than the United States (our country is three times as big!), this means that India is quite crowded.
Since there are so many people in India, there is a lot of diversity in the culture. For example, even though there is no national language written in the American Constitution, English is thought to be the official language of America. However, there are 22 languages officially recognized in India!
