Well, friends, it´s time to say goodbye! It´s been a great few months writing articles for you! Sharing my adventures with you has caused me to think more deeply about the experiences I´m having here in Colombia and reflect back on my time here. I want to thank all of you so much for being a part of it! I have enjoyed video chatting with you and seeing your smiling faces all the way in Barranquilla! You all had such interesting and thoughtful questions. I appreciated your questions and loved answering them.
I have grown so much in my time here. My skills using the Spanish language have gotten a lot better! My ability to be friendly and make new friends has gotten even better, too. I have become more critical in thinking about my own culture and the new culture of Colombia. I am still learning about both! I am becoming more adventurous and understanding all the time and I am so proud of that.
Writing for you all helped me integrate into the community around me and get out of my comfort zone. It helped me explore my new city and think about the culture more deeply. I will take what I learned through this experience with you all and carry it throughout the rest of my time in Colombia. I'll think about you guys even when I come back to the United States!
