Ava is a second year student in Wenzhou University, studying English translation. She's honest, funny and blunt with her words. Her hometown is in Hubei province in northern China, a place well known for cold winters and tall folks (Ava tells me she's an exception). Let's take a moment to listen to her story.
My full name is 张玉婷 (Zhang Yu Ting), but you can call me Ava for short!
At Wenzhou University, I live in the female dorms and have five roommates! It's always so crowded, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. Our room is long and narrow, with three beds lined on each side to create a small path in the middle.
We all have a loft bed with a desk underneath, so after a long day of classes and studying, I'll climb up the ladder to sleep. Sometimes there's not enough space for all my books and clothes, so I'll hang extra clothes from the side of my bed. We also share one bathroom that we clean weekly. P.S. We don't have a sitting toliet, but rather a squat toilet (we like this more!).
I love my room, but living in the dorms comes with lots of restrictions. There's a security guard who sits at the front desk, and stops boys from entering.
