There are many young Jordanians in Amman. Nardeen is 18 years old, and she is just like any 18-year-old American. She likes to spend time with her friends and family. These days, she is thinking a lot about her future as she starts college.
Nardeen Edward Baqleh. My middle name is the name of my father. Nar means fire in Arabic and deen means religion, but my full name is what we call the perfume that Mary Magdalene washed Jesus' feet with in the Bible story.
I live in a nice building and a very comfortable apartment. I spend all my time in my home because I love being home with my family. I live in a neighborhood called Arjan, which is a good place to live in. It's easy to drive anywhere from here, but there is nothing fun close by to walk to.
I have a small family with two sisters and my parents. We like to laugh and have fun together. My two sisters are married. My brothers in law are like brothers to me. I have many cousins, but I only see one of my cousins often because we are good friends. Arab families spend a lot of time together and visit each other a lot.
