






My name is Victoria. My pronouns are she / her, and I'm from Seattle, Washington. We acknowledge that Seattle occupies the land of the Coast Salish People.
This area of the world has two mountain ranges oriented on opposite shores of a beautiful, inland-sea called the Salish Sea, where Seattle is also located. The Salish Sea is where many kinds of marine mammals live, including the largest species of dolphin which are called Orca whales! Seattle is famous for technology companies, its coffee-culture and salmon.
This is where I grew up and raised my daughter. I love hiking in the moutains and kyaking on the Salish Sea. I go to school at the The Evergreen State Colllege where I am studying Medical Anthroplogy. As part of my studies, I was given a chance to go to Nepal to conduct field research. I had to do a lot of preparation to get to Nepal. I learned about the places I would be going to, and the people who live in each place. There are nearly 130 official languages in Nepal and about the same number of distinct cultural groups. I had to prepare to live in high-elevation mountain conditions on the one extreme and low-elevation savannahs on the other. I already knew that Mt.
