A Day in University with Me!

Depending on the day, I have one or two classes. Some of my classes include Literatura Comparada (Comparative Literature), Literatura Hispanoamericana (Hispanoamerican Literature), and Cultura Material y Visual de la Ciencia (Material and Visual Culture of Science). As you might have noticed, all of my classes are in Spanish! I am Colombian and American, which means that I speak both Spanish and English.

It might be a surprise to you that here in Catalonia, there are two official languages. This means that everybody from here is bilingual, which means they speak two languages. These languages are Catalan and Spanish. Most of the classes here are in Catalan, and every day I hear students around me speaking in their language. Catalan is very similar to Spanish, but reading it can be more easy than understanding when people speak. I chose classes only in Spanish this semester, but I am thinking about taking classes in Catalan next semester.

How would you guys feel if everybody around you spoke a language that you didn't understand? You can talk about this with your table if you would like.

My every day class schedule can be from 10-11:30am, 8:30-10am, 10am-1pm or 11:30am-1pm.
