Das tägliches Pendeln / My Everyday Commute

Introduction:

Hallo alle!

From my previous posts, namely my comparison between Danish and German phrases, you might have gathered that public transportation is a large part of Danish, and by extension European society. Having lived here for over three months now, life without a car is not only possible but preferable, as it means avoiding traffic and high gas prices; the only issue is figuring out which mode of transportation to take! As a side story, I will also be showing my daily commute through the wonders of photography.

How do people get around?:

Throughout Denmark, and noticeably in Copenhagen, das Fahrrad is among the top choices for getting to and from where you need to go, and you can tell just by walking down the sidewalk - if there are bike racks, they're full, and if there aren't, the sides of the sidewalk are filled to the brim with colorful metal and black tires. For those who aren't preferential to the hustle and bustle of bike traffic (which, no, isn't a joke), die Kopenhagener Metro is a quick way to get around the city and is the most convenient option if you live near an U-Bahnhof (short for underground train station).
