Mihaela is a 15-year-old living in a village located in the Ialoveni region of Moldova. Her village has a population of about 3,000 people, and it is where I lived during the first three months after my arrival. She studies at the local school where her mother works, and she has three older siblings who all live and work in the United Kingdom. While she speaks fluent English (and Russian and Romanian), this interview was conducted in Romanian, then translated into English.
For breakfast, I usually eat oatmeal or eggs, for lunch, something hearty like soup or meat with salad, and for dinner, something lighter like salad or yogurt with fruit.
My house is spacious and comfortable with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I have to clean my room, wash the dishes and sometimes help cook.
My mother has a stable job. She is a teacher.
