Hola (hello)! My name is Nora and I'll be teaching English to future English teachers in Quito, Ecuador. I love to study language. When I'm not teaching, I'll be exploring the world around me!

Since we last caught up, I've been exploring outside the city of Quito. I searched for granite at Río Blanco in Pimapiro, spent a weekend exploring in Mindo and visited friends in Cotacachi.

After a long and anxious wait, 11 hours of flying, and four hours of waiting in the Houston airport, I'm finally in Ecuador and ready to begin my journey! I am so excited to bring you along!

For indigenous communities in Ecuador, the relationship they have with the natural world is inherent. Generations of people in the Amazon have continued their ways of life, even against all threats.

Over the weekend, I took a four hour drive and visited the Amazon rainforest! There was so much cool wildlife. I joined a group of children on a long hike led by Meliza Andy, an indigenous woman.
