Birthday Celebrations

On Thursday, October 17th, I celebrated my 22nd birthday in Spain. I had so much fun with my host family and my friends at work. Here, birthdays are a big deal!

Exploring Bangalore's Natural Areas

This week I got to explore some of the natural spaces around Bangalore. I went bouldering, saw beautiful trees at a Botanical Garden and went to a concert. Come take a look!

Street Art: Indian Style

India is one of the most diverse countries in the world. With this diversity come vibrant cultural traditions stemming from Ancient Indian texts that have persisted in this modern day.

Sundays at the Park

Come with me as I give you an inside look into the lively, joyous tradition of Sundays at the park.

Tortugas

While in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, I got to release a baby sea turtle into the Pacific Ocean!

The KKU Community

I live and take classes in the community surrounding Khon Kaen University, or KKU. The campus is so large that many restaurants and businesses surround it. This makes meeting new friends easy.

Birthdays at Bayt

At my workplace (and in Jordanian life), birthdays are a big deal. For each birthday, we give a birthday present, sing "Happy Birthday" and eat cake together.

Jordanian Traditions

Jordan is a tribal society, meaning that there are huge families under one family name with a family leader. The people in the family may not live close together, but tribal traditions still continue.

My Journey To Egypt!

Egypt is in North Africa. I visited there while on my fall break from classes in Amman. Egypt is famous for ancient pyramids and temples, famous mosques, old Coptic churches and bustling markets.

A Week in Dubai

Last week I traveled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirites (UAE). My friend from Minnesota was on a work trip there, so she invited me to stay in her huge apartment with bedrooms and five bathrooms!
