Bangkok has many important temples, and I was able to visit two of them this weekend. I went to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Wat is the Thai word for "temple." The main religion in Thailand is Buddhism, so these temples are important Buddhist places of worship.
I just finished a book called The Beach by Alex Garland. It takes place in Thailand and was made into a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio when he was young.
It is not very common for women to play sports in Thailand, so I have not played any sports yet. When I am walking to school, I have seen many boys playing a game that is a mixture of hacky sack and volleyball. There is a volleyball net and the kids must get the ball over the net using only their feet.
One of my favorite things is ordering fruit and coffee in the morning! As I learn more Thai words, I am able to talk to the barista in more and more Thai. It makes me so happy when I am able to communicate and understand what they are saying!
