Our News

We started with Pulao with dry-fruits, onion and brinjal fritters/pakoras, bhindi/okra/ladies'fingers curry, potato curry/dum aloo, chicken curry and salad. All of us ate Indian food after a long time and this remains the best meal I ever had in Bloomington because nothing beats "ghar ka khana" / homemade food!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I am a big fan of Bollywood and Bengali music and I mostly listen to both on loop.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The cooking class which was conducted this Friday was the most fun activity for me this week. As I have mentioned in my other write-ups, I really enjoy cooking and therefore nothing can beat the joy I had by cooking and eating with people this week.

What did I read this week?:

I read a very interesting book on American Farmer's market this week. The USA mostly has large-scale departmental stores where people go to buy their groceries. However, all these products are produced at a mass-scale and in the recent past, there has evolved something called the Farmer's market where people come to sell and buy freshly produced organic items directly from their farms. Since these kinds of markets are very common in India, I found this book very interesting as it reminded me of my hometown markets.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I am not much of a sports-person and I didn't play any sports this week, like most of the weeks. However, I walked around the city a lot and clicked beautiful pictures of sunsets. I really enjoy photography and capturing pictures of dusk is one of my favorite pass-times.
