With my sixth graders, I tried the Marshmallow Challenge, the one where you have to build the tallest free-standing tower with spaghetti, marshmallow, a piece of tape and string in 15 minutes. It was interesting to see how different groups communicated (or failed to comunicate!) and worked together to build their tower.
To practice my Chinese, I just started reading a Chinese book that my teacher gave me this year. I am only a couple of pages in, but so far, it is about a girl who lies.
I taught Sharks and Minnows to my fifth graders this week. It was the first time many of these kids had played this game, and they really enjoyed it!
