Spanish is the main language that is spoken in Argentina. The history of Italian immigration to Buenos Aires is so strong that over the years, many words were shared between the Italians and the porteños, residents of Buenos Aires. This created a special slang, called lunfardo, which is only spoken in this area. For example, in Spanish, a woman is called a mujer, but in Buenos Aires she is called a mina, which comes from the Italian for woman, femmina.
The currency in Argentina is the Argentine peso. Bills come in five, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 denominations. Coins are worth one, two, and five pesos. As of right now, one dollar in the United States is worth 64 pesos in Argentina.
