I went to a hot spring, which is always fun and relaxing. This one though, had pools inside of caves as well as outdoors. Inside the caves you could cover your face in a specific type of blue mud with minerals that are good for your skin. I did feel very rejuvinated, but also a little like a fantastical monster as I sat in a cave with blue mud all over my face.
I read poetry by Claribel Alegría, Cristina Peri Rossi, and Jorge Luis Borges. For my literature class I also read a play called Tres about three women who immigrate from Ecuador to Spain.
My host sisters and I played soccer in the front yard a couple times. I also bought playing cards this week and taught them Go Fish. It's been a good game for when we're too tired to play soccer.
Sometimes strange and wonderful things happen while you're waiting for the bus. This week I saw two women bringing their dogs somewhere in a wheelbarrow. I don't know where they were taking the dogs, but they seemed pretty cozy wrapped in blankets in the wheelbarrow!
