This week, I had the most fun visiting my original host family. They live closer to Santo Domingo, so I had to travel quite a bit to go see them, but it's always worth it. They are like my home away from home, and I feel so lucky to have people I truly consider family.
This week, I continued reading the book A Thousand Splendid Suns, a novel by Khalid Hosseini. I have a Kindle with me here, which is very helpful considering I may not have access to books (especially not English ones) otherwise.
I played volleyball with some fellow community members at "the pley," the big field where the basketball court is being built!
There was a tragic incident in Santo Domingo last week. The roof of a nightclub collapsed, resulting in 250+ deaths, numerous injuries, and leaving the country in a state of mourning.
