I have found it pretty helpful, and it is encouraging when I realize I can understand a lot of what she is saying!
I went to Musée D'Órsay in Paris and I loved it! It is a large art museum containing mostly works from the second half of the 19th century. This includes the works of many famous artists like Van Gogh, Monet and Renoir. Paris is an amazing city when it comes to looking at art!
I am finishing up the book that I have been reading for fun this semester. It is called The Wide Wide Sea by Hampton Sides and it is about the explorations and voyages of Captian James Cook. I love reading history books and nonfiction accounts because this is an effective way to learn about the world and understand different perspectives without having to go anywhere!
In Paris, the hostel I stayed in had many card and board games to choose from in the common room, and I played cards with one of my friends from my study abroad program. We like to play a game called Pounce! which is played very quickly and can be played over and over again with a deck of cards.
This week I have been trying to balance school work, cultural immersion and travel as we reach the midterm point in the semester. It is important to maintain good time-management skills while studying abroad because balancing academic and personal goals can be challenging, given everything you are expected to fit into your day.
