The best meal I had this week was less of an actual meal and more of a dessert course! My friends and I went to one of the many Wetherspoons-owned pubs nearby our apartment. Since arriving to the U.K., I have been seeing videos of their famous chocolate fudge cake, and this past Friday, I finally had the opportunity to try it. I have included a picture of it here in the logbook, and I highly recommend the cake. The slice comes with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream, which does well to cut through the richness of the cake, and overall, it was not too pricey.
For music, I usually listen to a mish-mash of several artists and genres, but specifically, this past week, I have been favoring "Five Seconds of Summer" and "Wallows". I also listened to The Producers soundtrack, as my roommate and I saw the show last Thursday, while my go-to playlist is simply shuffling my Liked Songs on Spotify.
I had a lot of fun hanging out with friends at Wetherspoons. There is something precious about talking over good food in a setting beyond a dining room. An added bonus was running into other friends and students from our program, which led to unexpected, yet enjoyable, conversations about our plans for break and other topics.
Another highlight of the week has been the flatmate-bonding my flatmates and I have done recently. Despite being a random collection of roommates, we have been able to find common interests and come together for movie nights and the like.
