How much does a bottle of water cost?:

The price of bottled water depends on where you buy it. A regular bottle at a supermarket is around €1, or around $1.10, while buying one at a restaurant or near a tourist attraction can cost much more. One thing I appreciate about Paris is that tap water is generally safe to drink and there are public places where you can fill up a water bottle throughout the city.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was at a Mexican restaurant I found near my school in the 5th arrondissement (district). Ever since coming to Paris, I've been trying to find authentic Mexican food. So far, I've tried three places. They were good, but still not as good as in the United States or, of course, in Mexico!

I ordered an al pastor burrito and some nachos. Al pastor is a style of marinated pork that's popular in Mexico, and it's one of my favorite types of meat for tacos and burritos. The food definitely hit the spot, especially since I haven't been able to enjoy Mexican food as often as I did back home. Out of the three Mexican restaurants I've visited in Paris, I would probably rank this one second.

Having grown up in both Mexico and the United States, I've noticed some differences in how Mexican food is prepared in different countries. To me, authentic Mexican food is about more than just the ingredients. It's also about the flavors, spices, cooking methods and traditions behind each dish. Mexican restaurants exist in Paris, but I haven't come across nearly as many as I would in Chicago or Mexico.

Instead, I've noticed that Paris has a huge variety of other international cuisines.
