Farewell!

From little things (different food and transportation) to bigger things (like the importance of acknowledging age in everyday interactions), living in Korea has allowed me to reflect and learn about different perspectives.

I hope that following my journey has been an interesting experience for you and that you've learned a lot about Korea! Personally, getting to write about my time for you has been a wonderful way to contemplate and share what I've learned so far, and I'm so glad we've gotten to interact through this platform. I hope that you've had a chance to see the rewarding aspects of traveling. I encourage you all to seek out study abroad programs or opportunities to go abroad if you can. When I went to college, I was surprised to find so many fully-funded educational trips abroad, and I really think that more people should know about and take advantage of these awesome opportunities!

Lastly, I'm glad I've gotten to share a little bit about the people in my life in Korea. My host family, students, co-teachers and friends here have made me so thankful that I came to Korea this year. The relationships that I have formed during my time here could have only been made by coming to Hwacheon and investing time and effort into meeting new people, and these interactions have been the most meaningful part of my year here. With one more month left in Korea, I hope that I can make many more memories with my friends in Hwacheon before returning home to America. Likewise, I hope you all have a wonderful end to your year. Thank you so much for sharing this journey with me!
