Nice to meet you all! My name is Paavani Reddy, and I am 21 years old. I grew up near Cleveland, Ohio, and I am a big fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Growing up, I loved dancing, eating snacks and spending time outside. When I finished high school, I decided to move to Chicago for college. My dream is to become a doctor and help communities around the world. In college, I studied abroad in Mexico and worked at a school in India. I really loved my time in both of those countries and made wonderful friends. I also became really interested in medical education. I decided that after college, I would try to live and teach in a new country, and learn as much as I could before going to medical school.
And that's how I came to be a teacher in Korea, where I've been for the past eight months. I teach English as a second language to third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders. My students are so funny and kind!
Since coming to Korea, I have learned a lot about its culture. I think Korea has a very interesting history. I also love the food and music here! In the evenings, I try my best to study Korean so that I can get to know Korea even better. I also want to get to know the other teachers better. I am friends with many of the teachers in my school. We eat dinner and watch movies together.
