Hello! My name is Patricia Tiu, but you can call me Cia ("shay")! Over the next few months, I will be sharing with you all about my life and experiences living and working in Ecuador!
I live in Central Ecuador, where I teach English at a local public high school. Ecuador is a small country around the same size as Colorado. However, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in culture and diversity. Being on the equator there is a lot of bio-diversity and Ecuador is in the center of it all. From the rainforests, to the many volcanoes in the Andes mountains, to the beautiful beaches (or so I've heard, I haven't visited the beach yet).
I have always loved learning about other cultures and there is no better way to do it than living and learning from the people from those cultures! I have completely immersed myself into the culture here and spent a lot of time learning the language, the diverse culture of each of the regions, and making lots of new friendships along the way.
I am hoping to share with you all, through my articles, how rich and beautiful life is here in Ecuador. I hope you all can gain an impression of not only what it is to be in Ecuador and see what it has to offer, but what day-to-day life is like too!
