For example, a three liter bottle of water in the store costs 8.5 Yuan, or about $1.30, but refilling a three liter bottle from the machine costs only .80 Yuan, or about 12 cents. I usually refill my bottle once a day, so each day, I save about $1.18. In a week, I would have saved $8.26, and in a month, I would have saved $33.04. I'm here for six months total. How much would I save in six months from refilling my water bottle rather than buying a new bottle from the store each day? What would you do with that amount of money?

What was the best meal this week?:

Not too far from my apartment, I found a large supermarket that sells international food items, such as imported cheese and pasta. I was really craving Korean food (my favorite kind of food), so I picked up a few things to bring home to make ddeokbokki, a spicy rice cake dish with lots of vegetables and eggs. Nothing beats a homecooked meal!

What music did I listen to this week?:

Is anyone familiar with Joe Hisaishi? He's the man behind the music of films such as Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. I found that his beautifully crafted music is perfect background music to play while studying. You can easily find his music on YouTube. His music is also perfect for a good nap!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

In many parks in China, you will find large groups of mostly middle-aged women square dancing. Someone brings a small DVD player and shows a video of choreographed dances accompanied with music, and everyone follows along. Some people are so into it that they have matching costumes or props such as ribbon fans!
