Our News

Because of the older demographic, most people find it odd when a college student like myself joins in and dances along. It was a bit odd at first because I am a terrible dancer, but once I got into it, I really started having fun!

What did I read this week?:

Textbooks! The one I really enjoyed was on Urban Economics, which explained why cities are formed. The most interesting section was on the heights of skyscrapers; since there are so many tall buildings in New York City, I was really interested in this topic. Did you know that on average, the tallest building in a city is 27 percent taller than the second tallest?

What games or sports did I play this week?:

League of Legends is a popular video game in the United States, but in China. as in many other countries in Asia, this video game is a certified sport. The most recent professional competition was held in Shanghai. Being fans of the game, my roommate and I watched along, and eventually after midterms we found ourselves in a internet cafe playing as well. Unfortunately, this sport doesn't grant you the same health benefit as basketball, for example!

Other news from this week:

My school's football team (soccer is called football outside of the United States) won the championship! Many of my friends play for the team!
