There have been 8 presidents in the last 10 years in Peru, many of which are now behind bars. Peruvian politics are very complex and I have been reading a lot of articles, newspapers, and think pieces on the current state of affairs.
This week, I played a Spanish game called Limones with my friends. It’s a fun tongue-twister game where each person has a number. We take turns saying phrases like “Un limón, dos limones” and then call out another person’s number, for example, “Dos limones, cinco limones!” That person has to respond quickly and keep the pattern going without making a mistake. If someone hesitates, says the wrong number, or mixes up the words, they’re out! It gets faster and funnier as the game goes on, and we all end up laughing. Limones is a great game to practice Spanish and quick thinking at the same time.
I had to get glasses this week! My eyesight has been bothering me so I went to the eye doctor to get a check-up. I ended up needing glasses because my eyes have become sun damaged from reading outside so much. The sun is much stronger here because we are high up in the mountains, and without sunglasses you have no protection for your eyes. I like my new glasses but it is an adjustment.
