Growing up in a vibrant, multicultural household - with a Jamaican mother (who was raised in London) and a Nigerian Father (who worked as a cultural journalist) - I developed a great passion for exploring new cultures, engaging with a diversity of people and traveling. My fascination with diverse perspectives inspired me to major in Marketing with a minor in Psychology at Prairie View A&M University, located just outside my hometown of Houston, Texas. My studies helped me learn more about the commonalities that people share and the differences that make us all unique. The desire to learn more about this subject led me to study abroad in Ghana, located in West Africa. Visiting Ghana was an experience of a lifetime and my first trip out of the country without my family. It was scary to board the plane but once I arrived, the experience changed my life! Ghana is really close to the equator so it has a very tropical climate (although there are also deserts that stretch for miles!). One of my favorite places in Ghana is the Mole National Park, where huge herds of elephants roam the wide open spaces.
