Savoring Seoul: My Korean Food Adventure

Instead, you grab a small metal cup and fill it with water from a water station. In South Korea, water is always self-serve!

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Seoul is a city full of energy, history, and, most importantly, AMAZING food! Every dish I've eaten here isn't just delicious, but they are also a part of South Korea's culture, traditions, and way of life.

The meals at my university's cafeteria are made up of classic Korean dishes like Jjajangbap (black bean sauce rice), Yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), and Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles). These dishes are popular all across South Korea, but they also reflect how busy life is in Seoul. People here are always on the go—students rushing to class, workers commuting to their jobs, and families juggling their daily schedules. That's why cafeterias and food courts are so common! They offer fast, affordable, and nutritious meals that match the fast-paced city life. The self-service water and side dish bars also show how much South Koreans value efficiency and sharing food with others!
