In Vigo, the month of January is the coldest and wettest. It was no surprise that it was mostly cloudy all week and that it rained. I did not mind this weather at all since the weather was perfect with a cup of café con leche (coffee with milk). Since the city is adjoined by the Atlantic Ocean, it was also foggy and humid. The temperature averaged 52 degrees Fahrenheit. When I would go for a walk I needed a coat, but after awhile I would normally take it off. All in all, the temperature here is quite pleasant, and it will improve as the year progresses.
Perhaps the best part of Vigo is walking down the street and looking up into the sky. There are many birds flying above the city, but I mostly only recognize seagulls. I am told that there are many species of guillemots (or species of seabird) in the area. I will likely see them when I go to the beach or the Islas Cies (Cies Islands).
