When I sipped it, I knew that I had had something like that flavor before...but I couldn't think of what it was. All of a sudden, my sister said "it's sort of like a yellow Laffy Taffy!" and my eyes widened--it totally was! I have no idea how banana Laffy Taffys and batidos from San Gil taste so similar, but for my sister and me, their flavors were like cousins.
My sister and I got on a bus the next morning for the 3-hour curvy ride back to Bucaramanga, full of batidos, arepas and adrenaline from our time in San Gil.
