We also had a lot of guests over, and my host mom cooked a huge dinner for everyone that included manti. Our guests included a lot of my host mom's family members and two other American students. It was really fun getting to talk to everyone.
This week, I did a lot of reading for my classes! Our unit right now is focused on taxes, which probably does not sound too interesting. Learning the words in Russian has been really helpful, though.
This week, I played Durok, which is a Russian card game, with some of the other students here. Even after playing, I still don't have a great understanding of the rules, but I'm hoping to keep learning while I am here!
This week my professors told my class that we would have our midterm exams next week! The fact that my time in Almaty is already halfway over seems crazy. It still feels like I just got here.
