It has been very interesting, fun and educational sharing my experiences in Japan with you all. I hope I was able to instill in you a sense of interest about, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful and complex cultures in the world. Thinking back to six weeks ago when I started on this project, I feel that I have learned so much just by way of recapping and writing about my experiences and sharing them with others.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is that my experience is not necessarily the experience of other foreigners in Japan, nor a description of how Japan always is. My experience is just my experience. What do I mean by this? That everything you have learned through me during these six weeks should serve just as a reference about how Japan might be rather an objective view of how Japan definitely is. If you really want to get to know Japan, you have to travel and learn about it by experiencing life here yourself. This is true for any place in the world. The world is so vast and interesting! I also hope that through sharing this journey with me, I may have awakened an interest in you to learn about other cultures, other people's perspectives throughout the world, other languages and forms of thinking about the human condition.
Farewell for now!
