I went on my first field trip this week! My Marine Conservation class took us on a field trip to Naples on Friday, February 21st. In Naples, we went to a vet/hospital for sea turtles, it was SO cool to see the sea turtles up close. We learned about the life cycle of sea turtles and how humans are impacting them as well as other potential threats they face. Some of the most harmful ways humans impact sea turtles is by polluting the ocean with plastic debris (trash). Plastic waste that ends up in the ocean can hurt sea turtles if they get trapped in the debris, or if they eat the plastic.
