An Interview with my German Roommate

I buy almost everything at the local flea markets here in Leipzig, or second-hand from this app called "Vinted and Co."

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I like to do a lot of things with my boyfriend, family, and friends--anything from going to cooking classes to short walks around the city! I also really enjoy going to the gym, too. Some of my other hobbies include pottery, baking sourdough bread, and driving to the lake during summer.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

My mother tongue is German, but I also speak English. I also learned Latin in school; however, I've almost completely forgotten how to use Latin because I don't ever use it!

To say "Hello" in German, I often say "Guten Tag", "Moin", Grüß dich", or "Mahlzeit."

Do you have pets?:

Personally, I don't have any pets of my own. However, as a kid, I had three hamsters that never lived beyond a year. My extended family had pets, especially my grandparents. My grandma has many chickens, which she uses to raise eggs. My grandfather used to have many rabbits (for food), over 200 pigeons (also to eat), pigs, and lots and lots of cats. Aside from all that, they also had a dog!

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Yes, I love to travel, especially with my family. We've traveled a lot around Europe! For example, I have been to Spain, Italy (many times), Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Greece, France, and Portugal. I also did a world trip with my boyfriend for six months, where we visited Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and Indonesia!
