Leipzig History and a Quick Trip to the City of Weimar!

Photos

This week I visited the city museum at the "Altes Rathaus" - old town hall building - which is right in the center of the Marktplatz
The old town hall is now a museum exhibiting Leipzig's history from the Middle Ages into the present!
The "via regia" and the "via imperii" were two medieval trade routes that ran east/west and north/south during the Holy Roman Empire, and they intersected in Leipzig - meaning the city was historically an epicenter for international trade!
An array of medieval currencies used in Leipzig during international trade fairs
I learned that foreign cloths were very commonly exchanged in Leipzig during the Middle Ages

The only existing portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach, a very famous German composer and musician from the Baroque period
I had a vegetarian "Currywurst" for lunch after visiting the city museum!
