Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week I traveled to the main city, Tamale (tah-mah-lay), which is about an hour and a half away from my community.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

On my journey in Ghana, the farthest I have traveled is to the Ghana's capital city, Accra. I live at the very top of Ghana and Accra is at the very bottom of Ghana. To travel from one end to the other you have to take a bus and it typically takes around 18 hours!

How did I get around this week?:

I travel around my community by either walking or biking. However, when I go to Tamale, I have to take a yellow yellow. A yellow yellow is like a motorcycle with three wheels and is covered. A yellow yellow can also fit 6 people, although my record for amount of people in a yellow yellow is 11.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was the stream I found on my walk, it was in the middle of nowhere and there were no animals or people close by. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Other Travel News from this week:

The roads are typically very bumpy because they are either unfinished or made of dirt. This means that vehicles have to travel a lot slower in order to be safe.
