Riding In Style

After a long life of being a school bus in the US, it might have another, longer life as a public bus in Guatemala. After all, the average Guatemalan probably doesn’t have a car. Cars are expensive to buy and maintain. Plus, many Guatemalans don’t know how to drive. They rely on these forms of public transportation to get from place to place. These public buses also rely on their passengers; often being small, family-run businesses. Together, they help make Guatemala the place that it is today: a communal, loud and vibrant culture; a place where everyone relies on each other.
