On the island, it is known to keep a hold of your belongings as they may take them and run. I witnessed this first hand as I watched two young monkeys come from the trees and take a banana from a smoothy stand which was pretty cool to watch.
In conclusion, the wildlife in Thailand has definitely been a unique experience. Although Tigers are not seen in most communities, I do intend on traveling to a tiger sanctuary in a more rural community to have the opportunity to interact with such majestic animals.
While in Krabi, I island-hopped along various different islands and saw some exotic animals that I would have never seen in my community of Cleveland, Ohio, such as a Komodo dragon, monkeys, and a shark. Having the opportunity to travel to such exotic locations have been truly amazing. My mother made the comment that I was visiting paradise when she saw the photos I captured throughout my time there. This is absolutely what I would call my experience this past weekend, paradise, especially coming from my background of adversity.
I had the opportunity to see a waterfall and swim in the reserve created by the waterfall. There is a local waterfall roughly 15 minutes away from my dorm. This opportunity is truly unique having such amazing access to such a natural beauty. To reach the waterfall, it is a relatively easy hike through a national park. This in most cases allows for one to break a slight sweat before being cooled by the refreshing natural waters. As I dive into the water, most times I can only think about how thankful I am to have such an amazing experience that most people do not have access to.
