With the long, three hour drive from Bogotá to Boyacá, and all of the towns that we visited, we must have traveled about 200 miles this week!
The Boyacá trip was just a small drop in the distance bucket, given all of the traveling I've been lucky to do! With all of the buses and flights around Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, and Peru, I would estimate that I've traveled at least 1,000 miles.
We took buses just about everywhere around Boyacá, though a couple of times we took cabs.
The most interesting place we visited was definitely the amazing cave where the ancient Muisca people used to bury their mummies. I had never come so close to an ancient burial tomb before!
I'm grateful that we were able to visit Boyacá. From the gorgeous colonial towns to the vast páramo, it was very refreshing to experience such a different place!
