Sa-wat-dee ka! Hello! My name is Rose, and this year I am traveling to Thailand. I am teaching English to students at Nadoonprachasan School in the northeastern province of Mahasarakham. I traveled to Thailand for the first time when I was in college, and I really loved the country’s food, natural beauty, and friendly people. I am so excited to be back here as a teacher!
I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I moved to Minnesota about five years ago. I graduated from Carleton College in 2021, but I loved Northfield so much that I decided to stay in town for another year to serve with AmeriCorps at Northfield Middle School. I really liked helping students in the TORCH room and planning fun activities for Middle School Youth Center. In my free time, I enjoyed going for walks in the Arb, taking classes at Northfield Dance Academy, and getting coffee at Blue Monday.
I'm so excited to learn all about Thai culture. Life here is very different from the U.S.! But I have always loved to travel because I get to meet new people and learn about their lives and what they like to do. I hope you will enjoy learning with me, too. I look forward to getting to know your class and sharing lots of stories with you!
