This week I stayed in Dehradun so I could focus on studying for my first Hindi test.
I am currently over 6,000 miles away from my home in Washington state. In India, I've traveled to New Delhi, which is the capital of India. I've also been to the city of Amritsar, where I visited Shri Harmandir Sahib. The Harmandir Sahib is also called the Golden Temple, and it is one of the most important holy sites for people of the Sikh religion. I feel extremely fortunate that I have been able to visit this incredibly special place. For me, walking around the temple premises was both peaceful and powerful.
This week I took the Vikram to get around. A Vikram is a small blue vehicle that runs along a certain route, sort of like a bus. There are no designated spots to get on and off of the Vikram, you just nod at the driver and they pull over to pick you up.
The Buddha Temple was a beautiful place that I was able to visit. This temple belongs to Tibetan Buddhists that are living in India. The government of India has allowed refugees from Tibet to set up their own separate Tibetan government in India.
