Because southern Brazil is in the southern hemisphere, it is fall here. The weather is getting cooler at night, but it can still be warm during the day. This week, most nights were around 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and most days were almost 80 degrees.
This week, I saw lots of dogs and cats. I live with three cats in my host family, and almost every home has a dog. When I walk to the bus stop, I usually say "Oi!" to the dogs that I know.
Even though I have been here for almost two months, I still enjoy the flowers. It is fall and, surprisingly, many different kinds of flowers are blooming. I recognized a hibiscus tree on my way home from the bus a few days ago.
During orientation, they told our team that southern Brazil is underneath a thin part of the ozone layer. This means that more of the sun's rays can reach the earth.
