The Day in the Life of Moroccan Kids

Introduction:

Morrocan kids aren't really any different than kids from America. It is important to note that Morrocco is divided by city kids and rural kids. Those kids that are located more in the rural areas are most likely a part of the indigenous community in Morocco.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Morrocan children eat very small breakfasts usually made up of bread and jam. They eat a very popular dish called a msemen which is like a pancake, but it tastes more like a pie crust. They eat it with butter and jam or sometimes Nutella (chocolate spread). They do not eat very much cereal with milk, but I'm sure that they would love it!

What is your house like?:

The students that live in the city mostly live in apartments with their families. The children that I interact with usually don't come from a lot of money and living in the city is expensive so they most likely live in small apartments or very old riads (traditional Moroccan house).

What chores do you have at home?:

Kids have the same chores as American children: doing the dishes and helping out with laundry. Another big chore that children do in Morocco is running to the local market to pick up things for their family!

What jobs do your parents have?:

Most of my students' parents work very different jobs.
