Hey Class,
Today, I am going to show you a very different geography that Morocco has! Most people think of the desert when they think of Morocco, but it also has an enormous mountain range called the Atlas mountain range. It is completely different than the desert because it is wooded and rainy; it's really a beautiful sight to behold. I got to explore the mountain range when I went on a tour of Merkach! I even got to wear some traditional Moroccan clothes because it was so cold and rainy. Seeing the woods reminded me of my home in Northern California, and it made me happy that I will be home soon!
This environment is special and different because it is not what people think of when they think of Morocco. Most people think of desert and the sprawling sand dunes, but Morroco is home to one of North Africa's largest mountain ranges which is full of trees like you would think of in the woods. Seeing trees is a nice change of scenery compared to being in a desert because the woods are cold and foggy. People who live in the mountains dress very different than how people dress in the desert. You can see a picture of me wearing a traditional mountain cloak called a silham. It was very nice because I was very cold, and it made me look like a wizard!
