Fridays are always a big party at my house because people from the community and distant relatives from all over come to share a meal together.
The tradition is connected to the environment because Morocco has an abundance of couscous, but it is more connected to religion. Religion is a big part of the culture in Morocco, and it allows for strangers to share a common bond. By sharing a meal together, it allows people to get to know one another which creates a strong community. I sure will miss eating couscous every Friday with my Moroccan family after I return to the U.S.!
