I have had an amazing journey traveling and documenting my experiences with all of you! As I am settling in at home back in New Orleans, there are a couple of things I already miss about Iceland.

First, I miss clean tap water. I have only been back home for one week, and I can tell the difference in how the water tastes. I will definitely miss crisp Icelandic tap water. Second, I will miss the freedom Iceland gave me. Iceland is ranked the safest country in the world. And I can say from experience that I will miss the feeling of security in knowing that I’m safe. Last, I will miss all the amazing people I met and the beautiful places I have seen.  I had the opportunity to see and explore places like volcanic fields and melting glaciers. I now understand why Iceland is called the land of fire and ice. The entire country’s landscape is sculpted by glaciers and volcanos.

Though it is sad to see my virtual abroad exchange come to a close, I truly hope reading and hearing about my experiences might inspire you all to go abroad one day. I want to end by saying that it is possible to reach different parts of the world if you truly want to! There are programs like the Posse Foundation and Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program that can help suport you and your dreams.
