Our News

It is not good to calm you down, but is great if you want something upbeat to listen to.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I love history, so I had a lot of fun visiting Newgrange. Newgrange is a really interesting prehistoric site in County Meath. It is a passage tomb, which means that it was an ancient burial site. It was also used for ceremonies and rituals. It was built before Christianity when people worshipped the sun. In Newgrange, on the winter solstice, the sun aligns perfectly with a small hole that allows the sun to shine into the far back chamber and illuminate it. This is very advanced for 3200 BC (when it was built), 600 years before the Egyptian pyramids.

What did I read this week?:

This week I went on a literary tour of Dublin. Some famous authors like James Joyce and Oscar Wilde lived in Dublin and it's interesting to see the places that they wrote about. It makes me want to read more!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any games or sports this week. I've been traveling with my mom, grandmother and sister and we haven't played any sports. We really should, though!

Other news from this week:

Driving is crazy in Ireland because the roads are tiny and you have to share the road with large tractors and other cars. There are also stone walls on both sides of the road so you can just barely squeeze through.
