¡Hasta luego! from Perú

It is difficult to swim, here, but it is a lot of fun to sit on the shore, collecting rocks and watching all the people surf in the Pacific Ocean. I have gone on runs in the neighborhood and am playing soccer with friends on the weekend. Pichanga is a word used in Perú and neighboring countries that means a pickup or informal soccer game. It comes from the Quechua word pichay, which means “to clean.”

I am also looking forward to doing some traveling while I am here in Perú. This country is known for having a very diverse (having lots of, having a variety of …) landscapes: ocean coast, desert, rainforest, sierra, mountains. I would love to go hiking in the mountains near to the city of Huaraz, go whale watching in the northern city of Mancora, eat lots of fruits in the rainforest city of Tarapoto and admire the sand dunes surrounding the oasis town of la Huacachina. If you were choosing between those four amazing adventures, which would you choose?

As I contemplate my own travels, I hope you too will get to have some adventures of your own! Remember: it is a beautiful world, and your journey has only just begun! Thank you for following my journey. ¡Adios! Goodbye!
