¡Bienvenidos! Welcome! My name is Sofía and I am so excited for you to join me on my journey. I was born in Lima, Perú and adopted when I was a baby. My family came to get me and I moved to Minnesota with them when I was one year old. I grew up swimming in lakes during the summer and playing in snow during the winter. I went to school in Minnesota, from kindergarden all the way through graduate school, and now I am excited to explore another country!
I really enjoy playing soccer (I prefer playing defense), hiking, reading books in Spanish, English, or Chinese (Mandarin), and cooking yummy foods from around the world. I really like to learn stories about different places and people--that it why I became a history teacher!
I believe that traveling helps us learn new things and see the world from different points of view. Traveling is a great way to learn about the history of places near and far away. I like to think that traveling shows us all the ways people can be different and the same. I am really excited to travel this year and do research. Thanks for following along!
