Try Some Cazuela!

When it is ready to serve, place in a large clay pot (this is the traditional way!) and garnish with cilantro or parsley. Make sure each portion has a bit of each vegetable!

4. Serve with a very important side dish... bread! Opt for the traditional style, a kind of bread called marraqueta

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Chilean food has many historical influences, including from the indigenous community (primarily the Mapuche) and European immigration (primarily Spanish). The cazuela takes advantage of ingredients readily available for Mapuche cooking, including potatoes, corn and red meat. The name "cazuela" actually refers to the clay pot in which the stew is cooked and comes from culinary traditions in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. This type of pot has been used for ages because it preserves heat well, and it works for both cooking and serving the food.
